 (2 mg+0.5 mg +0.6 mg+10 mg)/ml Ophthalmic Solution
Opsonin Pharma Ltd.

5 ml drop: ৳ 125.00

Indications
  • Treatment and support of ocular surface disorders involving impaired cellular metabolism and oxidative stress, including:
    • Moderate to severe Dry Eye Syndrome
    • Corneal epithelial injuries and erosions (post-surgical or traumatic)
    • Non-infectious keratitis and conjunctivitis with metabolic dysfunction
  • Adjunct therapy in retinal ischemic conditions and optic neuropathies (off-label but clinically accepted)
  • Supportive treatment for diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma to potentially reduce progression
Dosage & Administration
  • Adults: Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) 3–4 times daily. Maximum 6 times daily.
  • Pediatrics: Use with caution; typically 1 drop 2–3 times daily in children over 2 years.
  • Elderly: No dose adjustment needed; monitor for ocular dryness.
  • Special populations: No dose adjustments for renal or hepatic impairment.
  • Administration: Topical ophthalmic use only. Avoid contamination of the dropper tip. Separate from other eye drops by 5–10 minutes.
Mechanism of Action (MOA)

This combination enhances ocular cellular metabolism and protects against oxidative damage by supporting mitochondrial function. Adenosine activates purinergic receptors improving microcirculation and cell repair. Cytochrome-C facilitates electron transport in mitochondria, boosting ATP production. Sodium Succinate feeds the Krebs cycle, further enhancing oxidative phosphorylation. Nicotinamide replenishes NAD+ pools, vital for cellular redox balance and DNA repair. Together, these actions promote corneal healing, reduce inflammation, and protect retinal cells from ischemic damage.

Pharmacokinetics
  • Absorption: Minimal systemic absorption due to topical administration.
  • Distribution: Localized to ocular surface and anterior segment tissues.
  • Metabolism: Metabolized intracellularly in ocular cells through normal mitochondrial pathways.
  • Excretion: Eliminated locally via tear drainage and ocular metabolism.
  • Onset: Clinical effects generally noted within days.
  • Half-life: Not precisely established; rapid local metabolism.
Pregnancy Category & Lactation
  • Pregnancy: No established FDA category; limited data. Use only if benefits outweigh risks.
  • Lactation: Minimal expected systemic exposure; presumed safe with caution.
  • Note: Data are limited; monitor closely if used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
