Mechanism of Action (MOA)

Zinc oxide acts primarily as a physical barrier and skin protectant by forming an occlusive layer on the skin, thereby preventing further irritation and moisture loss. It has mild astringent and antiseptic properties that support skin healing and reduce inflammation. Castor oil serves as an emollient and humectant, promoting moisture retention in the skin and aiding in the dispersion and penetration of zinc oxide. The combination enhances the protective, soothing, and healing effects on irritated or inflamed skin, especially in moisture-associated skin conditions such as diaper dermatitis.
